I am starting to notice my step count now that I’ve started back to working in the office and wearing my fitness watch. It’s a great reminder of how stagnant I can be. I have been eating yogurt again, sometimes have the oatmeal for breakfast, though I really like the Bicak breakfast, the egg mcmuffin. I got a little burned out on oatmeal, and chili as well.
Like any good habit, the 6-meal-a-day thing is hard to get used to. The worst thing is when I’m not really hungry. I want to just not eat because I know I’m struggling with my weight and I need to eat less. It’s a real mental twist once I understand that eating now will help me keep from eating later when I will be “desperate” (though not really hungry of course) and will eat something bad. It’s kind of like when you’re a kid and going on a family trip and your parents tell you to go to the bathroom before you get in the car. Eat now, and things will go better later on. It’s a fact.

UPDATE 11/3/21 – When I went to the dentist the hygenist told me that when I drink coffee, my mouth stays acidic for 30 minutes after I stop drinking. So lately I’ve been just drinking one cup in the morning and drinking it in a shorter time. I have been drinking more water too. Unfortunately, I overdid it one morning on the stationary bike and now I have yet another foot injury. This one is familiar, around the area of the Achilles tendon. If memory serves, that took a long time to heal. So another reminder to warm up before a workout and be gradual about increasing intensity. Weight-wise, I have had a few good diet days, keeping track of my calories, and keeping the right foods around the house. The result is that I am now back, in week 10, to my original weight of 274. That’s actually progress, believe it or not. So let’s see how it goes from here. I’ve talked about how my cheat meals become cheat days and multiple cheat days. And that’s one thing I was able to do last week is to limit the cheat time. I had a couple of heavy meals, but I was good the rest of the day. Shopping prudently can help with this by limiting the amount of cheat food I have around. So I’m feeling optimistic.
