In this episode, the dietician recommended 64oz +8oz per pound you want to lose. I recently read that Tom Brady (see episodes 120,121,122,129,174) drinks between 14 and 37 glasses of water per day, sometimes more. There are so many opinions on how much you need. Personally, I should probably drink as much as I can. I don’t think I could drink too much and I’m definitely not getting enough now.
Chili has worked out well for me, though I can get tired of it, like anything else. But I have eaten a lot of chili on this diet. But right now I’m tired of it and hesitate to eat it. I did just get a replacement for my old gas grill, so I’m going to start grilling chicken again, I haven’t had that in a long time, so I should be able to get back to that and leave the chili for a while. Another lunch staple was gumbo. And you know I’m working in a different place now, and when you use the refrigerator or anything else there, you have to wipe it down to reduce the spread of COVID. Ugh. But I need to adapt to thrive!
The other topic I brought up in episode 57 was metabolism, and so far I don’t think I have a problem with that. But I have to be consistent in tracking my calories and weight to know for sure.
I need to put in an update here, but I don’t want to. I haven’t lost, and I haven’t gained. I met Tom, the grand poobah of the Padua Podcast Network, for breakfast this morning as we do every month, and we commiserated about our struggles. I never give up though, so I continue to struggle. Because in the end, it is the struggle that counts. When I stop struggling, I stop living.
