I have lost forty-nine pounds. I am now trying to eat at a more reasonable caloric level to get the nutrition I need. I am working on it but it is difficult to just lose half a pound per week. My weight can fluctuate that much in a day. But I need to take a long-term view of this to avoid the negative effects of rapid weight loss.
Fashion Dept.: Today I set a new personal best spandex record. I am wearing head-to-toe compression. I am too vain to wear spandex without some additional outerwear.
Weather Dept.: It is a perfect day for getting a workout.
Diet Dept.: I sometimes have only one meal a day if it’s a big, rich meal, which I did earlier in the week with a spaghetti dinner. An option I’ve just discovered for snacks is turkey jerky. An ounce is about eighty calories. I also have some recipes for healthy smoothies that I plan to try.
Medical Dept.: I’ve been having trouble with my arm and a lot of pain throughout the day. I suspect it has something to do with my mouse and I’m going to try a couple of things to fix that before going to the doctor to have it checked out.
Fitness Dept.: The 10,000 step rule is one of those guidelines that is often repeated. Be suspicious of any statements that contain the words “always”, “never”, ”everyone” – any absolute. There is no ideal step count that’s good for everyone. Assess your own situation and get a reasonable amount of exercise. I’m now at walking a half mile per workout. Next week I will go to three times per week, then I can think about extending my range.
I am still optimistic. I can continue this exercise routine, and maintain it over the long term. I can get to a healthy weight. In other words, I still have a fever to be healthy!
