This was 2018 but I still love Thorlo socks. Also, I think inversion and traction would help me even though I’m not having the shoulder pain it was started in order to correct.
So I was at 1200-1400 calories and gaining weight. These days I can definitely lose if I keep total calories under 1000. I could probably go higher than that as well. But most of my good days are around 1000 calories.
If the biggest problem is the plateau or metabolism, I don’t think I particularly have a problem with that now. I’m not sure exactly how many calories I can have and stay in deficit, but I know I’m sure not losing weight too fast.
Many of the foods that made up my diet back then I have been eating all along. I still have yogurt, apples, and even oatmeal. I’ve gotten a bit burned out on chili, and maybe oatmeal too. And I need to get some chicken prepared. I have plenty, and I finally have a working gas grill, so maybe this coming weekend I’ll make some and freeze it for meals in the future.
The update for episode 292 I just wrote yesterday, but I thought it made sense to report today, as I’ve had a few thoughts since then. You see, I was looking at things rather negatively then. I always try to turn things positive, and that helps, but today I really see that things are not as bad as they seem. For one thing, I am maintaining my weight. There’s something to be said for that. I have been in worse shape in the past, that’s for sure. So the fact that I am not gaining any weight is a small success.
Also, I got on the stationary bike this morning, and there was no pain. It seems that even though I believe I sustained the injury while exercising on the bike, it really only bothers me while walking. So I plan to get back into a daily exercise routine immediately. Exercise is not only great for the body, it’s great for the mind, and helps relieve stress. I also picked up the dumbells for the first time in a while today.
My stress has decreased a little recently, as my family is healthy, and I’ve made some big presentations at work that have gone well. I am also helping others in a couple of ways, and that is always a boost to my mental health and general happiness.
I am also looking forward to getting out in nature. My vacation starts in a week, and that hopefully will be a big stress reliever, as I enjoy a week at one of Arkansas’s beautiful state parks.
So I always try to be honest with you and share the good times as well as the bad. And sometimes, there’s a little of both at the same time.
