Work can be a distraction, even though it is an important and integral part of my life. I’m very grateful to be employed, but life is more than work. I need to remember that. It is late in the day, but it is the time of year when I need to wear sunscreen when I go out. Skin cancer is a danger associated with exposure over a long period of time, and in the past it was thought that such exposure was healthy. Fit people seem to also have a healthy confidence, have you noticed? I certainly feel better about myself now than I did last year and I think my health has something to do with that.
Patti Brunner (patriarchministries.com and https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSs3eAFjuEhVVD68LO3MifQ) mentioned to me that she was worried about my diet. She was listening to an older episode during the time I was starving myself to win a “biggest loser” contest. I still count calories and that keeps my weight under control, but that is not an indication that I have a healthy diet. No specific foods are off limits to me, I can really eat anything that fits into my caloric boundaries. But I probably should not eat twenty chicken nuggets for lunch, because that would use my whole allowance of calories for a day. Eating nutritious foods, finding foods that I like that are good for me, is a challenge right now.
